Nothing happened much in the first half year of 2009 - everything cramped into the 2nd half!

For the first half year I have been really lazy; I spent a lot of time rebuilding/ DIYing some vintage preamp, Telefunkens and RCA, hobby stuff you know, I liked building models when I was a kid.

I managed to score three episodes of 'TV movie' for CCTV ( Beijing ) called 'Blood Line Hunting' directed by Hong Kong director Billy Tang. Composed one more piece of promotion music for Hong Kong Film Development Council. And i did some teasers; one of them is the teaser for Daniel Lee's new movie called '14 Blades' or 'Jinyiwai 錦衣衛'.

Then of course I had spent a lot of time releasing the OST for Three Kingdoms - Resurrection Of The Dragon, yes it is available now - finally.

A lot of people asked me why the OST is over a year later then the movie; well, i can only say that this is due to a lot of unforeseeable problems. Problems of rights with movie companies ( hence no pictures from the movie) and therefore redesigning the cover and everything;  mastering in USA for best quality ($$$ spent );  since the soundtrack was nominated for best original score in Asian Film Award and Hong Kong Academy Of Film Award, I guess releasing around this time may help the promotion; BUT, the major reason being, the CD market is sooo bad nowadays that it is too difficult to find a distributor. The OST market in Hong Kong is so small that it is impossible for record company to earn any money. Plus most people who likes my music or would actually buy my CDs are  from China, USA or Europe but not here in HK ( sad ) so I need a distributor who could also distribute oversea but sadly none of them can. So in the coming year I will focus on distributing my OST by myself online, a lot of work  but I don't see any alternative.

Anyway back to reality, yes the 2nd half of 2009 is a busy year. More episodes from 'Electroboy' and 'Go for speed'. English, Japanese versions of 'Electroboy' theme song. 'Blazing Teen' animation series theme song. I am working on a Hip Hop dance movie ( yes quite a change but I like Hip Hop music ), a drama from Mable Cheung and Alex Law ( director of Beijing Rocks ) plus '14 Blades' by Daniel Lee. A few more movies are still being consolidating and hopefully they will keep me busy to 2010!
